Ingredients for Chocolate cake with cherries:
2 cups flour;
200 g. Chocolate;
1 cup sugar;
½ cup butter;
1 cup yoghurt;
1 tsp baking soda;
1 cup cherries;
3 tablespoons cocoa;
2 tablespoons rum;
2 tablespoons powdered sugar;
1/2 cup raisins;
All products must be at room temperature.
Wash the cherries and stone them.
Melt the butter on water bath and cut the chocolate into pieces.
Beat the eggs with the sugar and add the melted butter. Add it carefully as it is hot and the eggs are cold!
Then add the soda into the yogurt and add them to the egg mixture.
Mix them well and with constantly stirring add the sifted flour and the cocoa.
When all the products are well mixed and stirred, add chopped chocolate and raisins and mix gently.
Prepare the baking pan and add baking paper into the bottom. Arrange the cherries and pour onto them the mixture.
Bake into preheated oven to 180C/355F for about 60 minutes.
You can cover it with aluminum foil to avoid the overcooking.
When it’s ready, leave it to cool on a metal grid.
