Do you remember a particular dessert from your childhood? And I’m not speaking for those which your mom bought from the nearest store, but for the ones that your grandma was making. Once you got home from school and smells of a chocolate 🙂
So I got this recipe from my grandma a few months ago and i was waiting for the perfect time to make it. It’s not because the process is difficult or something … However today my thoughts are not running with the ordinary ease so I’m just gonna give you the recipe for this delicious cake, which deserves your attention! 🙂
For the cake:
- 0.88 lb yogurt;
- 1 tsp. baking soda;
- 1 cup sugar;
- 1/2 cup olive oil;
- 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder;
- 1 vanilla extract;
- 2 and 2/3 cups flour;
- 0.88 lb. fresh strawberries for decoration;
For the cream:
- 0.33 lb soft butter (at room temperature);
- 1 cup powder sugar;
- 3 egg yolks;
- 2-3 tbsp milk;
- 5-6 tbsp coconut filings;
For the syrup:
- 1 cup water;
- 1/2 cup sugar;
First you can make the syrup and the cream so they can cool while you bake the cake.
For the syrup mix the sugar and the water and leave to boil for a few (5) minutes.
For the cake: Preheat the oven to 200C degrees. Mix all the ingredients and continue mixing until we get homogeneous texture. After that we cover a cake shape with cooking paper and pour the cake mixture the into the baking form. Bake at 200C degrees until ”dry stick”. Once the cake is baked, leave it to cool on a metal grid.
Next is the cream: Beat the soft butter and the sugar while get cream mixture. Add and the rest of the ingredients, stirring constantly.
Leave it in the refrigerator for 30min to tighten.
Assembling the cake is very easy.
Syrup the cake and spread the cream on the top. Decorate with the strawberries.
Leave the cake for a few hours in the refrigerator.
